Description:
Against a backdrop of political tension and difficult choices, Ju Yeong-nbok's life changes when he takes a job as a Russian translator in the North Korean army. When his sister unexpectedly defects to South Korea, he worries about her safety and his own future within the communist party. Yeong-bok's commitment to the party is challenged when he makes a painful decision to end his relationship with his Catholic girlfriend in order to advance. However, despite his sacrifices, he is ostracized and blacklisted within the organization he dedicated himself to. The film explores the complexities of identity, political loyalty, and relationships in a world divided by ideology, where it's hard to know what's right.
