Description:
The film follows Don Sallust, a powerful minister in the Spanish King's court. Driven by greed, he uses his position to gain wealth while harming the common people. His corruption leads to a scandal involving the Queen, a beautiful Bavarian princess. Accusations of an illegitimate child with one of her maids result in his dismissal and exile to a monastery. The story examines power, deceit, and morality, exploring the consequences of greed and corruption at the highest levels of society. The characters face difficult relationships and moral choices in a time where reputation is everything. As Sallust loses his power and is isolated, the film questions the effects of a life based on dishonesty and how actions impact society.
