Death Penalty (1980)

A determined psychologist undertakes the difficult task of rehabilitating a young man from a Pittsburgh street gang. He was convicted for his role in a violent playground fight that resulted in the deaths of two other teens. As she explores his troubled past and tries to understand what led him to this life, the psychologist questions her own views on justice, forgiveness, and whether people can change. The film examines forgiveness, social inequality, and how violence can repeat itself in cities as the psychologist and the young man confront their places in society and their own potential for growth.
