Curious Tales of a Temple (2025)

This epic animated fantasy film brings together six stories from Pu Songling's classic Chinese collection, "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio." All the tales are connected to Lanruo Temple, an ancient ruin filled with ghosts. The stories, including "Taoist from Laoshan Mountain," "Princess Lotus," "Nie Xiaoqian," "The Painted Skin," and "The Daughter of Magistrate Lu," explore themes of love, death, and morality across different time periods, featuring humans, ghosts, and demons. The film blends six unique animation styles, such as felt-textured animation for "Taoist from Laoshan Mountain" and aesthetics inspired by Song dynasty painting for "The Painted Skin."
