Description:
In 19th-century Lapland, young Nikolas is orphaned after a family tragedy. The villagers take him in, but each Christmas, he moves to a new adoptive family. To express his thanks, Nikolas begins crafting toys as farewell gifts. Over time, he creates presents for countless families, and Christmas morning becomes a time of gift-giving throughout the region. At thirteen, Nikolas is apprenticed to Iisakki, a stern carpenter who disapproves of the Christmas tradition. Slowly, Nikolas earns Iisakki's respect, and together they maintain the custom. When Iisakki is forced to leave, the tradition faces extinction. Nikolas then devises a solution ensuring the joy of Christmas presents continues for generations.
