Description:
Following the Civil War, a Union soldier is released from Confederate captivity and journeys through Missouri with a fellow prisoner. Their trip takes a tragic turn when the companion is accused of horse theft and dies. The soldier continues on, carrying the deceased man’s belongings to his family ranch, where he meets his friend's sister. As their bond grows into love, the soldier is haunted by memories of the war. These past traumas unexpectedly resurface, forcing him to confront his inner demons and find a path forward in a nation struggling to recover.
