Description:

Tatie Danielle is a darkly funny film about an unusual widow who unintentionally disrupts the lives of everyone around her as she deals with her loss. Tsilla Chelton stars as Tatie, a woman who expresses her grief by tormenting those she encounters. Her great-nephew and his wife are drawn into this chaotic situation when they take her in after her husband dies. As the family tries to adjust to having Tatie with them, they discover she is a challenging presence. Conflict arises, and they eventually leave her in the care of Sandrine (Isabelle Nanty), a young au pair who shares Tatie's negativity. The two women initially clash but form an unexpected friendship as they find common ground. However, when Sandrine gets a chance to leave, their bond is strained. In a moment of anger, Tatie fires her caretaker and becomes deeply depressed. Alone, Tatie’s mental state worsens, leading her to start a fire in the family's apartment. The media portrays her as a vulnerable old woman, while her family is seen as villains. This quirky comedy offers a unique look at grief, loneliness, and the complexities of human connection.
