Primo Levi wrote that Anne Frank's story resonates more deeply than those of many others who endured the same horrors but have been largely forgotten. Oscar-winning Helen Mirren narrates Anne Frank’s story using excerpts from her diary. The film recreates Anne's room in the Amsterdam secret annex with meticulous detail, designed by the Piccolo Theatre in Milan. This year marks Anne Frank's 90th birthday. Her story is interwoven with those of five other young Holocaust survivors – Arianna Szörenyi, Sarah Lichtsztejn-Montard, Helga Weiss, and sisters Andra and Tatiana Bucci – whose accounts are shared alongside those of their children and grandchildren.
