Description:
"Majka," also known as "Chatterbox," follows a young girl as she struggles through the challenges of growing up. Majka, who has a slight physical disability, endures constant teasing from her classmates and mother, who often criticizes her walk. Finding comfort in first love and a close friendship, Majka's experiences are complicated by her parents’ lack of understanding and hurtful schoolyard labels. She finds solace with her grandmother and in her own imaginative world. Director Peter Solan has created a sensitive portrayal of a twelve-year-old girl that connects with viewers of all ages. His skillful filmmaking tells a story about the difficulties and joys of adolescence, honestly depicting the cruelty of school.
