An Ordered Life (1980)

This drama tells the story of Anton Webern, a talented German composer played by Colin Jeavons. During World War II, Webern avoids the Nazis but dies tragically at the hands of an American soldier near the war's end. The film also follows Stephen, Anton's devoted but misguided son, portrayed by Daniel Gerroll. Ignoring his father's wishes, Stephen joins the German army and dies in a 1943 railway accident. The movie explores themes of art, sacrifice, and the war's devastating effect on people and families through the intertwined lives of these two men connected by family and music.
