25 Million Stitches: One Stitch, One Refugee (2025)

"25 Million Stitches: One Stitch, One Refugee" is an art exhibition by Jennifer Kim Sohn exploring the issue of human displacement. On display at the WMQFA from March 1 to July 28, 2024, the installation uses 25 million hand-sewn stitches to represent displaced people. These stitches are attached to 407 muslin banners, created by over 2,300 stitchers in 37 countries and all 50 U.S. states. The project, developed with collaborating artists Nina Edelman and Helen Lambron, along with Noora Badeen and museum staff, aims to highlight the impact of global displacement and encourage viewers to consider its scale.
