If you saw the original movie a long time ago, you'll probably watch this and think, "Huh, it wasn't as good as I remembered." But then if you go watch the original, you'll realize this remake suffers in comparison because they sanitized a lot and changed more than you think.
The biggest shift from the original is cutting Mewtwo's backstory. Originally, the scientist who cloned Mewtwo had a deceased daughter, Amber. He preserved her consciousness after some accident and was trying to clone a new body for her. Pretty dark. It makes sense why they took that part out, even if I disagree wi…

I found this rare(maybe) movie by a complete desperation in search of movies pre 2000.
my excuse is that pre digital movies look smoother to the eye and are involving real proffessionals at work.
and by this account i can watch anything made pre digital with no single distaste.
the movie is a rollercoaster, it will punch you in the face and kick your guts with the brutal reality of it's main characters life struggles (3 overall).
this movie requires you to submit and accept it's premise, It's really hard to accept this one without letting your mind go and than it real…

Better than O Brawling Love, significantly actually. This film, although it has some bad errors, does a way better job of showing what JPCatholic students are capable of doing.…

Extremely funny comedy/thriller from Lisa McGee (creator of Derry Girls). The crime/thriller aspect is servicable, but the real atraction for me is the comedic strength of this 8-part series. I found this funnier than most straight comedies.
Irish-based comedy (both NI and RoI), with diversions to London and Portugal and a very strong cast, largely of Irish actors.…

"Dao Ma" (Jing Wu) is quite merrily collecting bounties with his young friend "Xiao Qi" (Charles Ju) until he is summoned by a local governor with a proposition and subsequently, having killed the man, is forced to seek refuge amongst his friends in a remote mountain village. It is there that they ask him to return the favour by escorting "Zhi Shi Lang" (the unseen Sun Yizhou) - dressed in white robes and with a painted face mask akin to an harlequin, on a perilous journey across the Taklamakan. Unaware of the true significance of his companion, they set off only to find that they are now want…

I had high hopes for this, but boy was I disappointed... Instead of getting Christopher Lee, Boris Karloff or even Arnold Vosloo - we get a modern day "Carrie" with a few bandages and a rehash of the "Azazel" story - only this time with a sarcophagus and lots of rusty chains. We begin when the young daughter of "Charlie" (Jack Reynor) and "Larissa" (Laia Costa) is abducted by someone at the bottom of their garden who has been grooming her with candy bars at their Cairo home. Despite the best efforts of the police, there proves little that can be done and so the family relocate back to the USA …

When "Molina" (Tonatiuh) is marched into his cell in 1980s Argentina, he is introduced to a cellmate who couldn't care less about his peccadilloes. "Arregui" (Diego Luna) just wants to be left in peace to read his books and not to be disturbed by the flamboyance of his obviously gay roomie - or his beaded bed curtain. The persistent "Molina" isn't about to be ignored, though, and after a degree of attrition finally manages to engage his new friend with a story of the "Spider Woman" - a movie made many years earlier and featuring the legendary "La Luna". Now mingling their grim real life existe…

Enjoyable! Not much nostalgia for me because I barely played Super Mario Galaxy but I like the lore I didn't know before. I can't wait for the sequel!
