We've either a horrible crime or we have a terrible premise for an unholy and even justified unnatural series of occurrences coming into play. Appears we've a group of characters gathering, and they appear to be primarily young eclectic adults, and one of them has a beautifully haunting doll. The facility they're in appears to be rather odd in its design, and the decorations are definitely off-putting, but in the most inquisitive manner. Perhaps if they’d screened the first version of this story from 1997 followed by the whole of “Quatch” then I might have better appreciated this Sony reboot of the story? Then again, maybe not. This was a funny movie! Without spoiling the movie I loved the way they shifted the point of view and switched it around so that the human was the "visitor from out of space". Great idea! Also, loved the obvious "Alien" inclusion into the film from the Sigourney Weaver movie franchise and to make him a pet like our dogs would be, hysterical!…

With some of my favorite actors like Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson I was really expecting this to be a great movie! It certainly had action and those actors had great lines and roles. But the movie seemed to be split into a bad version of Small Soldiers and a Jackie Chan movie two separate styles each separate and then only tied together by a thin thread towards the end of the movie. Funny, great story and a twist in the plot! I'm a sci-fi, fantasy guy and this checked all the boxes for my. Even had romance, so it was a good movie. Had some big names so only thing missing for me was a little more action and a deeper history.…

Our film opens with a back story, and we've several young persons laid over between gigs. We've scenes of truly horrific nature, likely prior to our characters' appearance. They've a prankster amidst them, and it appears as if things are getting rather spooky beyond their understanding. As the supernatural occurrences begin, we've a terrible tragedy within our group of young characters, followed by yet another tragedy. For real fans of “Star Wars” this is borderline sacrilegious as it dares to poke fun at the characters and storylines from most of the nine movies. Nothing is off limits from the “Aluminium Falcon” to “Admiral Akbar” and his very own brand of nutritious breakfast cereal. There are special performances from the cantina band; the Emperor is at his most imperious - builders permitting, and “Jar Jar Binks” proves that there really is no end to his talents to annoy and irritate. What was the point of this? Between the very breathy performances of Dave Bautista (of which I understood a third of) and the worth-for-nothing ending, I want to understand who this story was for, what the end goal was. It felt like I was watching the action fantasy of a middle schooler into FPS games, or two grown men into D&D whose decision making is bound to the roll of a die. This reminded me a little of “Shooting Fish” (1997) only here we have siblings “Nick” (Andrew Hawley) and “Elliot” (Richard Madden) who live their lives on the wrong side of the law. They are quite effective at petty thievery and gatecrashing parties but it’s fairly clear that the former brother is a becoming a bit of a liability as he drinks and snorts his way into trouble from which “Elliot” has to regularly retrieve him. AHHHH! What can I say, my favorite film ever. Its an amazing coming of age film which handles grief and youth in a delicate way. Its portrayal of queer love is sweet and wholesome and it has just the right level of drama, but it doesn't overwhelm the whole story. I would reccomend to anyone.…
