Though he hasn’t a line in the whole thing, Matteo Razzouki-Safardi steals this engaging Dickensian style Parisian short drama. It all starts with “Philippe” (auteur Philippe Pollet-Villard) and his pal “Richard” (Richard Morgiève) who make a living pretending to be cops apprehending a gang of pickpockets. Whilst they do all the “you’re nicked” stuff, the others in their gang go through the bags and pockets of the unsuspecting bystanders and later they divide the loot. One such sting goes a bit wonky, though, and before the lads have any chance to intervene the real gendarmes have apprehended …

With just twenty minutes left before the polls close, international aide worker “Peter” (Ulrich Thomsen) leaves the scintillating conversation he is having in the pub and tries to get a taxi to the polling station. This is another one of those films that is really only part drama and part stage show. This one sees poor old bookie “Jimmie” (Robert Armstrong) get fleeced by aspiring chanteuse “Pearl” (Irene Harvey) before being dumped, broke, from a great height. Having licked his wounds, he decides that vengeance can be sweet as he engages an out of work Gilbert and Sullivan company to lure her back to the stage.
