32/100 Jordon heads back to her hometown to find her sister and mother from "Along Came the Devil" and a demon causes problems. There's about a 15 minute segment that's intense, violent, and well worth watching as dad has a Jack Torrance moment. Unfortunately, it's sandwiched by a whole lot of dragged out mundane blah, blah, blah. The character of Jordon has absolutely no screen charisma whatsoever and the writing is pretty lame, for the most part. The climax came off as a 'we ran out of money' ending resolving nothing. 39/100 This slasher exploitation film, with considerable sex and violence, features a girl who accidentally kills her mother in a car accident and then kills people in a theater production when she grows up. That's not a spoiler ...that's obvious from the start. In fact, I was expecting some sort of twist to show it wasn't her but, noooo. This simple premise is simply an excuse to kill a lot of people with broken glass in bloody fashion and proving that any form of sexual thought or activity insures your doom. 67/100 As viewers, we ride along and observe an ex-slave / barbarian, a young boy, and a bunch of crusaders, as they travel from the Northern Highlands of Great Britain to North America sometime around 1100 AD. That's about the entire story in a nut shell. However, it's extremely authentic and exquisitely photographed. We get to know and understand the characters explicitly with little dialogue. 59/100 A guy, who got an early parole to inform for the FBI, unwittingly gets involved in the killing of an undercover officer. Things go down hill from there. So does the movie, in a way. It's very sluggish with a complicated series of events that's vastly overwhelmed with the drama of it all. The acting is exceptional (except, perhaps, his wife who only appears to have one expression), the writing is good, and it's a well made film. But it is squarely a drama and not a very active one at that. Plus, they left a couple of pretty important story lines dangling. Good, but needs energy. -…

68/100 Take a "Ring", add a little "Grudge", throw in a few cell phones and you have one creepy-ass movie. People are getting messages on their cell phones, from their cell phones, chronicling their own death in a day or two. Despite being somewhat long winded, the characters anxiety and eerie atmosphere kept me totally engrossed. Although I found the last 5 minutes to be somewhat perplexing, the payoff is startling. 75/100 Ten strangers are invited to attend a dinner party hosted by a Mr. U.N. Owen. Then they start dying. The Mrs and I love Agatha Christie movies and shows and this is my personal favorite. Saw it first as a teenager, I was blown away at how it fooled me. Even today, with knowing what's going to happen, the movie is a treat to watch. The writing is great, the tension is constant and the 'Whodunit?' break is classic. Watch for versions of the film where the break is cut out. 41/100 Apparently, it was decided it was time to make another exorcism movie as we haven't had one for, what ...6 months? Although it did a pretty good job in presenting us with the gross and gnarly possession make-up and the appropriate demonic behavior, there's absolutely nothing new here. And, what is presented, is not nearly as good as many. 65/100 30 years after a Nazi puppeteer was killed while terrorizing a town in Texas, a convention for the puppet collectors is taking place and the puppets decide it's time for revenge. Good filmmakers take the ludicrous premise of puppets killing people and turn it into a good film. No surprises here but the characters were likable, the dialogue was loaded with sharp wit, and the killings were gruesome and gory with just the right amount of camp to never take them too seriously. 66/100 A bumbling police Sergeant finds himself well out of his depth while investigating the mass murder of families by one of the family members. And now his daughter seems to be possessed. A tense, unique story that grabs your attention and doesn't let go, despite a prolonged first half. Keeping our protagonist as confused as the viewer over what is right, wrong, good, evil, are there demons, ghosts, witches, until the final moments elevates the tension to overwhelming levels.
