Silent Hill
8/10 by patient1 February 12, 2026
First watch, I was impressed with the attempt at keeping the film terrifyingly spooky and keeping you on edge at what could come next. The creature effects are too notch creepy and the imagery of what we're seeing will Haunt some, if lucky. I really enjoyed the game in total Darkness and with the sound coming through my stereo with the bass deep enough to feel their foot steps. I'm always ready for the 100th+ watch.…

The Bad Sleep Well
7/10 by CinemaSerf November 17, 2022
We start with the sight of a group of journalists at a wedding. The daughter of an industrialist is marrying the son of another. Nothing new here until, that is, an extra wedding cake is wheeled into the reception shaped just like an office block. Sticking out of a seventh floor window is a rose. We are quickly told that symbolises the window from which the groom's father committed suicide. Shortly afterwards, two senior executives are arrested after a ¥12 billion deal is suspected of being a bit fishy. Neither executive will talk to the prosecutors so one is released and the other released an…

The Last Chase
5/10 by CinemaSerf August 31, 2025
From six million dollars to six million pennies, well that’s just the first journey Lee Majors makes as this frankly pretty silly dystopian drama sees him try to escape to “Free California” in his Porsche (complete with plenty of product placement). You see, their United States has run out of oil and cars are banned. Given his has probably got a V12 engine, he isn’t flavour of the month with the authorities as he and his newfound protégé “Ring” (Chris Makepeace) race along the long abandoned (but perfectly maintained) highways to their destination. Meantime, the ace-pilot “J.G.” (Burgess Mered…

Night Patrol
7/10 by Chandler Danier February 12, 2026
Night Patrol! It's pretty bad but...look at the name. Look at the cover! It's a bad movie. I enjoyed Night Patrol though it required a healthy dose of the skip forward 10 seconds button. Kind of goes off the rails and tries to...tie it all together with daddy vampires and revenge. It's all quite dumb and simple and about that scene where that guy tries on all the axes. That guy is the best and for all the preparations, there should have been more meaningful combat. Instead it's just bloodvision, vats and dudes walking around prepared to fight demons but also completely unprepared. Cool s…

Whistle
8/10 by Chris Sawin February 11, 2026
Whistle‘s writing is standard and mediocre, typical of films about summoning death with percussion. However, horror fans will appreciate the creative deaths, solid acting, and an ending that leaves you wanting a sequel. https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/horror/whistle-review.html…

Send Help
7/10 by CinemaSerf February 11, 2026
The spirit of “Nine to Five” (1980) is alive and well for “Linda” (Rachel McAdams) as she is constantly being passed over for promotion by golf-playing men who rely on her to do all the work. She hopes for change when new employer “Bradley” (Dylan O’Brien) takes over from his dad, but a combination of his best mate from university and her liking for tuna duly kiboshes that. She is, however, to embark on a team trip to Thailand for a merger meeting and it’s en route that a violent storm leaves her and her hapless boss stranded on a tropical island. It turns out that she is a woman well equipped…

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End
10/10 by lettucebowler February 11, 2026
This show teaches us to value the small momemts we have with those we love. Life is long, but it's also short. When you look back on your life, you are unlikely to first think to the grand achievements, but rather to the memories and connections made along the way. Those are what we cherish most. My favourite part of the show is the range of emotions it can make you feel, even within a single episode. You can mourn a loss, savor daily life, appreciate the beauty of 'useless' things, and get hyped up by an epic fight scene within just 25 minutes.…

Twisted
2/10 by Enes February 11, 2026
I only started to understand the movie after about 30 minutes. Frankly, it was boring. I was bored while watching it. Also, some scenes were absurd. The horror film relies heavily on dialogue. Is it worth watching? I think it's a waste of time. It gets a 2 out of 10. Moreover, I couldn't even finish the movie.…
