I recall my folks telling me that when I was a kid, I always preferred to play in the cardboard box any gifts came in than with the gifts themselves, so I could relate a bit to this amiable adventure. Papa pig and his two kids have recently lost their wife/mum and look to have fallen on hard times, so have to go and live in a trailer park. First impressions aren’t too good, but the youngsters manage to turn this outwardly alien environment into one from their own imagination with monsters galore incorporated into their vivid interpretation of their new surroundings. Dad, meantime, tries to foc…

A young man turns up late for work to a busy kitchen only to be teased by his colleagues - they assume that “Magid” (Eben Figueiredo) has been out with his girlfriend. He bats back their suggestive comments and gets on with things, but fairly quickly another lad (Gurjeet Singh) arrives and unless you have the gaydar of Atilla the Hun you immediately get the drift. It’s got the feel of the shorter “Boiling Point” (2019) to it for the first five minutes, but once the plot is laid before us it becomes quite uncomfortably pedestrian. It’s clear that "Zafar" wants a meaningful conversation with “Ma…

I think Roland Emmerich’s mistake here was tying this story so specifically to Stonewall. Had he just left it as an Armistead Maupin, “Tales of the City”, type of structured drama then it might have worked more convincingly. It centres around “Danny” (Jeremy Irvine) who has been ostracised by his rural community and his own family after he was caught fooling round with his pal “Joe” (Karl Glusman) by two of their friends who wasted no time in sharing their discovery amongst their schoolmates. Evicted, he moves to New York City with little more than a suitcase and makes for the Stonewall Inn. O…

Con artists Kevin (Marko Plantan) and Mia (Lea Cok), seduce and rob wealthy women. After mistakenly believing they've killed a seductress named Ema (Darja Krhin), they attempt to bury her in a remote forest. Emma awakens and flees, initiating a deadly game of cat and mouse where appearances are deceptive.
Whilst the plot itself is one we’ve seen before there are some fun set pieces, most notably a fight scene in the forest between our female antagonist and unwilling final girl. A western style score sets the tone as the two duke it out for survival.

73/100
An impostor, posing as the U.S. President, tries to destroy the Joes and then start Armageddon in a typical megalomaniacal style. The film could certainly use some improvement in dialog, much of their attempt at wit was simplistic and flat, and the characters were rather shallow albeit likable and fun to watch. The highlight here is the action sets that were explosive, tightly choreographed, well shot with a minimum of shaky cameras, and incredibly exciting ...the cliff side fight sequence was pure gold. Overall, my wife and I found this to be a very entertaining watch. -- DrNost…

I love this genre of movies. Multiple people end up at a cabin with no knowledge of how they got there or how to get out of there. I call this the Cube genre after the movie by that name. I can't say too much without spoiling the plot. Suffice to say, it is well acted. The R rating is due to the foul language of one of the characters whose conduct is a plot point.…

**This should have been two movies.**

I feel it would have been better if Justice League Dark: Apokolips War had been structured as two movies, similar to The Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen.
Movie 1: We see the Justice League preparing for the attack on Apokolips. Meanwhile, the Teen Titans prepare to defend Earth if the Justice League fails. An emotional farewell to characters we've come to know over several movies, and then the epic battle on Apokolips... and the tragic end. The death…

One of my favorite movies of all time! Watched it again recently and there are still things I missed, wow. Loved it, I didn't realize the series changed quite a few important details but I guess that's okay. Great story, love the tie in with Ancient Egypt only thing that could have given this a 10 was more character depth or love story but the sci-fi part was the focus here which was more than adaquate. Need more movies like this! When is Nephilim coming ...…

**_Riveting and sad Czechian tale of WW2_**
This tells the true story of London sending Czech-born commandos (Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan) to Prague in late 1941 on a mission to assassinate SS-General Reinhard Heydrich the following May. He ranked in the top three or four leaders of Hitler’s SS and was infamously known as "The butcher of Prague,” not to mention he one of the principal architects of the Holocaust.
The story is a mix of drama, suspense, war action and tragedy. It's not a typical WW2 movie due to the covert mission. It's more akin to "Valkyrie” or the fictitiou…
