Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan: Ghost War
6/10 by MovieGuys May 23, 2026
Watchable, but the underlying message isn't a good one. That's my core takeaway from "Jack Ryan: Ghost War". Yes, by all means, watch this film as a basic, wholly familiar and predictable but nonetheless enjoyable action romp. Expect decent pacing, lots of action and mildly engaging characters. All that said, pushing the belief that doing horrible things to people is somehow redeemable in order to keep the world "safe" isn't good on any level. As we are seeing, the US's belief in its primacy has led to countless deaths and seemingly endless wars. In summary, quite watchable when viewed…

The Vampire Lestat
1/10 by GenerationofSwine July 13, 2026
For Starters, it's not _The Vampire Lestat_, they seem to be doing _The Queen of the Damned_, the third book not the second. And then all of the meh DEI political changes that made _Interview With the Vampire_ suck are still in place and in your face. Louis is still Black, not an aristrocratic slave owner, it was still a couple centuries later which cuts off some of the back story to the characters... ... only in this one because of the political rewrites and changes they are forced to make even more changes that break the story of the Vampire Chronicles and it's clear that they are reachin…

Blades of the Guardians
9/10 by Zeus July 13, 2026
9/10 stars review ratings from me; it is a well deserve review. It's been a long time since the movie 14Blades, Red Cliff etc. And 2026 is just the right year to have a great movie like this to appear. No nonsense fight scenes Great cinematography and it just feels right on every angle that you look at it. There is a few twist .. on the plot but not to heavy that makes you confuse. All in all, its a splendid watch.…

Teach You a Lesson
8/10 by ℛ. July 12, 2026
There's so much I want to say about this drama. But let's keep it short. This drama, which explores bullying in schools, left me with mixed feelings. It is both terrifying and sad to realize that perhaps in some places cases of bullying are becoming more and more common. Although in my own place the bullying cases are not that bad (or so I thought). Like the tip of the iceberg, this bullying seems to be a hidden threat for a long time. But one thing I've realized is that recent bullying cases are truly horrific. It's as if the psychological impact on the victims isn't a problem. The p…

Minions & Monsters
6/10 by CinemaSerf July 12, 2026
When the yellow perils manage to gatecrash a film studio and cause havoc on the set of a film, the director is terrified that his two rotund bosses will want his head. Instead, though, they adore the chaos and commission him to make more films featuring the "Minions". Swiftly, they go from rags to riches and are hugely popular until... Sound. Silent movies have gone the way of the dodo and now there is to be audio. Yikes - who wants to sit in a drive-in and listen to lots of squeaking and squawking coming from these diminutive stars? Well, nobody really and so swiftly they are back out on pove…

Agent Kim Reactivated
4/10 by MovieGuys June 28, 2026
I like South Korean series, but "Agent Kim Reactivated" is, simply put, a tedious watch. In my opinion the primary shortcoming is the scripting. This is supposed to be an action thriller, yet it's almost as if they are reluctant to get on with telling the story. Instead, there are incessant, irritating asides with shifts in story and focus; pointless secondary characters by the bushel; combined with a wholly unbelievable, overstated, super-humble-to-the-point-of-absurdity "doormat dad" who apparently is also, and this is the funny part, a secret agent/ruthless assassin. Acting is decent, b…

The Furious
6/10 by MovieGuys July 12, 2026
"The Furious" is a basic, formulaic martial arts action flick that will appeal to martial arts film purists but less so to everyone else. Beyond the relentless, frenetic and oftentimes bloody action, the shelf is pretty much bare. The story is wholly formulaic and familiar, with a cast of predictable characters, from the dad who is probably ex-special forces or some kind of assassin, the sidekick with his own agenda, the kidnapped but feisty daughter and the super bad, bad guy. It's all been done before. I'd say if you are a fan of martial arts films and you want a low-IQ watch that's not d…

The Rip

Bridgerton
1/10 by Zeus July 11, 2026
Overall 1/10 stars review ratings from me. 🧆🍢 Critics of the backlash view the show as a masterclass in comedy that challenges authority, while conservative groups heavily criticized it. It's a drop the moment I saw such ermm what was the word again multi racials in the 1800 England Regency Era. Just does not give thus the drop.…
