***A monstrous crocogator attacks a resort on Sri Lanka in this Italo rip-off of “Jaws”***
An entrepreneur (Mel Ferrer) introduces his new exotic resort off the coast of south-central Asia to a photographer and employee (Claudio Cassinelli & Barbara Bach). When the ‘god’ of the remote river is angered by the intrusion he manifests as a giant alligator and starts killing people, including Natives. Naturally, the local tribe rises up to get rid of the tourists.
“The Great Alligator” (1979) is an Italian production, also known as “The Great Alligator River,” “The Big Alligator Rive…

**Score: 6/10 - A Technically Proficient, Emotionally Hollow Adaptation**
There are certain books that lodge themselves in your psyche so deeply that decades later, scenes, lines, and questions still surface unbidden. Orson Scott Card's *Ender's Game* is one such novel. Published in 1985, it was a seismic work of speculative fiction, a brilliant, brutal, and morally devastating exploration of childhood, manipulation, and the terrible cost of victory. For those of us who read it forty years ago and still think about it, the 2013 film adaptation arrives with impossible baggage. Judged pur…

"Daredevil Born Again" is what you might expect, plus a little that isn't.
Yes, this series is better written than your usual tacky, superhero fare. There's a sense, in spite of the silly costumes, that the characters are real people, with all the complication, contradiction and baggage, that comes along for the ride.
So, thus far this series is off to a decent start. What's not so good is the slow creep thread of woke-ism. I would have though by now the US entertainment industry had inflicted enough pain upon itself and its viewers, to know better.
Other more positive aspects inc…

"Agent Zeta" is a mixed bag.
On the upside decent action, an interesting back story, characters with depth and plausible motivations.
On the downside, political bias (ETA were an understandable response to a complex political landscape in Spain not helped by at times oppressive governance), a story that's a little incoherent and can unsurprisingly be difficult to follow, plus inconsistent pacing.
In summary, a moderately watchable action thriller from Spain but not without shortcomings.…

A decent lead actor and a solid foundation in the form of popular Western comic "Lucky Luke", from Belgian cartoonist Morris, created in 1946, can't save this series from a by now predictable woke feminist make over.
Almost from the get go, Luke is elbowed aside by his empowered gal pals. Its a familiar refrain where male role models are watered down or displaced. The question becomes, whats the problem with strong male role models?
Beyond that actings fine as is the action and produciton values but well, its not really enough is it, when the story and narrative misses the mark.

"CIA" offers up decent actors in a bland action spy series.
The wholly forgettable, formlaic first episode, to me at least, made little coherent sense, accompanied by a predictable dash of "woke" codswallop.
Acting is solid, but it's mired in a series that is, so far, pretty uninspiring.
In summary, a basic action spy drama, with the usual pro US rules the world narrative.…

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is a gripping action-drama that blends intense emotions with high-energy sequences. The story follows a determined protagonist seeking justice, driven by betrayal and loss. The film stands out for its powerful dialogue, strong screen presence of the lead character, and well-executed action scenes.
While the storyline may feel familiar at times, the engaging pace and emotional depth keep the audience invested. The background score adds to the intensity, making key moments more impactful.
Overall: A solid entertainer for fans of revenge dramas with action and emotio…

Power Rangers is easily one of the best shows I ever watched growing up. I absolutely loved it and would get excited every time it came on. The action, the transformations, and the giant robot battles were so cool and never got old. Each Ranger had their own personality and powers, which made every team feel awesome and unique. Even if the story was simple, I didn’t care because it was so fun and entertaining. It taught teamwork, courage, and doing the right thing no matter what. This show was a huge part of my childhood and I still think about it a lot.…
